Top 3 Spring 2017 Anime Shows To Keep Your Eyes To

Spring has arrived, and with it, new anime shows to keep us occupied while we are waiting for summer. However, what’s different this spring, at least regarding the anime industry, is the impressive lineup of shows premiering this April. Get ready to see the return of one of the most popular anime shows of all time, the continuation of a last year favorite, and a new entrance to a fan-favorite saga. Without further ado, let’s find out which are the top 3 spring 2017 anime shows to see.

1) Shingeki no Kyojin Season 2 (Premieres April 1st)

Yes, you read that right. ‘Attack on Titan’ returns four years after its first season and we simply can’t wait. The return of the show is big news after its immense success four years ago spanning video games, movies, and even a live-action adaptation. Taking place into a dark fantasy, post-apocalyptic world where humans are preyed by huge anthropomorphous monsters they call titans, we follow the story of Eren, a boy with a heavy burden to carry.

If you haven’t already watched season one, then you still have enough time to do so by a close margin. For all of you that have watched it and you want to know more about what to expect from season two, you can find out more here. The new season premieres April 1st. There are rumors that only air 12 episodes will be aired, but nothing has been confirmed yet. No matter what, the wait is almost over.

2) Boku no Hero Academia 2nd Season (Premieres April 1st)

One of last year’s best anime shows returns after exactly one year with new episodes and an all-new, all the more exciting season. Boku no Hero Academia tells the story of a boy that is “quirkless”. In a world where 80% of humanity have powers, called “quirks”, to be “quirkless” is the minority. However, that changes as soon as the boy meets his favorite superhero and finds out the true meaning of being a hero.

A show that easily could have been reduced to another entry to the shounen genre has taken its place as being one of the most creative depictions of superheroes and the constant fight against bullying and social pressure. Being one of my personal favorites, I can’t wait for the second season to be released. The show premieres April 1st. There has been no confirmation about this season’s number of episodes, but if it’s anything like last year, we are expecting a solid 13-episodes.

3) Boruto: Naruto Next Generations (Premieres April 5)

Boruto Anime

Let’s talk about Naruto, and his son, Boruto ( will be watching it on boruto-tv). What has been a long, very long, time coming, is finally only days away. After running ten years straight, and with 500 episodes under its belt (without counting the first Naruto series), Naruto Shippuden has officially finished airing on March 23. What was a filler-filled journey has come to an end, giving its place to his son, Boruto.

With a heavy burden lying on its shoulders, this new show will act as a continuation of the Naruto series only that it will star his son, Boruto, a whole new generation of ninjas. Personally, I like how things turned out for the series. Naruto was well-received by its fans around the world, but the endless continuation and lack of canon episodes made it difficult to watch and a bit repetitive at times. What is intriguing, though, is that the creators of the show have confirmed that Boruto, at one point in the show, will be even stronger than Naruto ever was.

Count me interested then. The show premieres April 5 and if it’s anything like its “father” series, expect a long run.

There you have them then. From titans to superheroes, to ninjas, this season is sure to bring us some of the top anime shows of this year. Which one you’ll be following? Let us know in the comments below.
